Quick update.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while… I've been really sick for the past week and a half or so and have been dealing with some other issues as well. I caught a cold from one of the other program participants and my symptoms have been mutating. If I don't get better by tomorrow I will probably hit the school clinic and see if they can prescribe some non-life threatening antibiotics.

The stuff I got from the U of U travel clinic is a little scary… Go look it up on wikipedia. It's called Ciprofloxacin. Yikes. Sneak Preview: They give it to anthrax inhalation victims, and it doesn't work on upper respiratory infections. Whoops.

My particular "rare" symptom was bleeding profusely from my gums after brushing my teeth. Yay.

I'll post a blog about Kyoto (it was cool) and Den Den town later. I come home in about a week. It's been a really good trip. My Japanese is *much* improved. I've lost some weight here, but I don't know exactly how much.

Since I've been sick, some of the Japanese students brought me some sort of energy drink and some medication (yay!). We'll find out if it works.

  1. "Ciprofloxacin (INN) is a synthetic chemotherapeutic agent used to treat severe and life threatening bacterial infections." O_O
